Review for 2023

This year I have managed to get a number of things done, have put off getting things done, and procrastinated on getting things done. (So in many ways, not too much different than previous years.) In other ways I have been more successful at getting things done than not.

Accomplishments:

  • I started some therapy to review various emotional health skills. (Via the autism clinic I go to.)
  • I am getting help for a recurring back problem. (There is something going on with discs or something.)
  • I have written more Meta posts. (But not as many as I could)
  • I have made some changes to the layout of the blog, and started to write more “personal event/history” stuff.
  • I signed up with NetGalley so I could review books that haven’t been published yet.
  • I have added more book reviews from Goodreads/my previous review blogs.
  • I finally managed to leave my old SMI provider (I think? There seems to still be some confusion.)
  • I have made a slight attempt at opening social communication with younger sister/other relatives. Other relatives are still Very Much No Contact
  • I got some work done on my fiction writing projects, but not a lot.

What I’d Like to Accomplish:

  • I need to read more books so I can write more reviews. (I keep getting distracted by other things.)
  • I need to write more meta and also fiction.
  • (I need to work on self-promotion for above.)
  • Continue my ongoing therapy appointments.
  • Get into the various groups I discussed with providers
  • Arrange doctor’s appointments for check up and so on.
  • Fix my glasses, which are missing one of the nose grippy things/get new glasses because it’s been a couple years.
  • Work on budgeting and keeping better track of expenses.

The coming week is going to be full of various appointments. I have two appointments for the pain management doctors/chiropractic doctor. I was not able to schedule them for the same day, which is a disappointment. (One appointment is to review a recent MRI the other is for the chiropractor.) Another appointment is to meet with the prescribing doctor at the autism clinic.

I also have a food pantry box delivery I have to be home for, because I keep running short toward the end of the month. (I ran short this month again and I’m really annoyed with myself.) The food boxes make me slightly cranky because they tend to be very eclectic and frustrating because there’s no way to really make complete meals out of what they give you. I will probably post about it. (Yeah yeah, beggars can’t be choosers, but you try to make complete meals out of rice, sweet potatoes, slightly off green peppers and beans.)

There probably a post or two about that.

(Note: I am on a very limited income/disability. Even with being in several assistance programs I have trouble supporting myself.)
