My sister sent me socks for my birthday! No, I am not so boring that socks are exciting for me. These are Quality Wool Socks That Cost an Arm and a Leg. So I am excited because they are super comfy, with a thick sole that provides a little extra cushioning. (These are specifically Hiking Socks, but I am wearing them because Flat Tired Feet.) The company that makes them is called Darn Tough, and they are not a sponsor of this post.
I was accidentally introduced to this brand of socks because last year my sister was traveling with her husband, visiting friends and relatives on the west coast/southwest/northwest. She asked me to hold packages for her, that she and her husband would pick up. I was agreeable to this, except there was a problem.
Sometimes, I am easily confused. Sometimes, if someone is not VERY SPECIFIC about a thing, I will not understand the intent. The line goes from “a” to “g” and never encounters any other letter in alphabetical order. Such was the case, concerning these socks.
Somehow, Sister talking up the socks, and telling me all about how you can apparently trade in damaged socks for new ones translated in my brain as: Presents! Or at least: Payment for Assistance with holding Items!? So, I opened the package, and tried on a pair, and was very pleased with them, and told Sister how awesome they were.
She wasn’t angry! At least I’m pretty sure she wasn’t. Probably very confused. But not as confused as me, who put the Awesome Socks on in the first place. We discussed the situation via text and went back over the conversation. (And yeah, I didn’t get what she was saying, and she didn’t realize I was confused.) So we ironed out the problem, and she offered to let me have the One Pair of Socks. I however said something like, “no, I’m just going to wash ’em. That was my bad.”
Anyway, sister sent me socks and I am 99.999% sure they are actually my socks this time.
