Update (Writing and Otherwise.)

The past couple months I have been kind of busy with various metaphorical brush fires. I’m currently attempting to switch clinics. (I have a clinic for autism related things and a clinic for non-autism mental health things because developmental disabilities are on a different track from other mental health things in Arizona. It is exactly as frustrating as it sounds.) I have been attempting to switch clinics but things came to a head when my insurance provider decided that the mental health clinic’s PCP (who had quit) was my PCP, so they gave me a new PCP. (I have a different PCP from the mental health clinic but for some reason the insurance provider didn’t know that, even though they should have known that. I had to get the insurance provider to switch me back to my actual PCP.)

Now, I had wanted a new mental health clinic to begin with because my current provider for mental health is kind of terrible. (They lost documentation from the autism clinic where I finally got the diagnosis. There are only two caseworkers on “my” team and neither of them are MY caseworker. They keep losing my phone numbers and addresses when I provide them. They have the nerve to say I’m uncooperative because I am trying to advocate for myself. It took YEARS to finally get a referral to get screened for autism, and again, they lost the documentation.) I was able to get a transfer to the autism clinic, but I still need a mental health clinic. (So far the autism clinic has been helpful and I have home appointments.)

So, I had to a) update my records. b) find out if the provider my actual PCP works for has outpatient behavioral health services (they do, but only for clients who are part of the network). c) get a referral from my PCP to the behavioral health clinic. d) get my current behavioral health clinic to send a transfer packet. This was…a lot. Particularly since I was also starting therapy appointments and suddenly I needed to get the apartment ready for a bug spraying. (Two days. I had two days notice to clean my entire apartment.)

This was a lot, and very high stress! My anxiety went through the roof and I think I would have had a meltdown or two because of the situation. As a result, I am somewhat behind on Lord of the Black Mountain, though I’ve been poking at it intermittently. I am hoping to get more done this week. I am also hoping to get some reading done, so I can write more book reviews, and I need to update my pages.

A project I am working on is to get some of my older reviews from previous blogs up onto this this blog. They are currently on Goodreads, but I lost the original files at some point, and for some reason they are no longer on Google Drive, where I also stored them. This will probably take a while, so I’ve been scheduling them so I have continuous updates.
