I am on a slight hiatus on Lord of the Black Mountain because it turns out that chapter nine is actually chapter ten, and I need to stick in some scenes to develop a story arc. In order to do this, I have been writing notes and working on character creation because I need to flesh out some characters that I introduced in chapter eight (which has not been scheduled to post yet). This is of course the peril of being a pantser. I am also working on blocking out the scenes I want for the chapter. (I mostly did that yesterday.)
Working with Royal Road so far has been a pretty interesting experience. I have found a few webnovels that are pretty good, and some that are less good, but have potential. I will probably endeavor to do more reading and eventually review/recommend some of these stories. (I first discovered Royal Road via a story that was recommended on tumblr, which I need to get back to and read. I will write about it later.)
Now, before this iteration of my WordPress blog, I had a different blog under a different name. On that blog were mostly book reviews, some meta, and also some memoir/essay-type posts and occasional fiction. I ended up deleting the previous WordPress because I wanted to start over from scratch. (Since the user interface had changed drastically and fixing the posts would have been too hard because there were a LOT of posts.) I still have the posts/reviews so I will be reposting some of the older book reviews/meta/memoir/fic posts. (Some of the reviews will themselves need to be rewritten as they were written during times when I was under Massive Stress and it shows.) I will begin scheduling them soonish, when I find my portable drive.
